Origin Anterior part of iliac crest, and adjacent gluteal surface;

Anterior superior iliac spine ASIS;

Insertion Lateral condyle of the tibia via the iliotibial band (ITB)
Innervation Superior gluteal nerve
Nerve Root L4–S1
Artery primarily lateral circumflex femoral artery, superior gluteal artery
